Emojis are used every day, wether to type a laughing face instead of LOL for a text or to comment on someone’s amazing selfie. There’s the “praying hands”, (which is actually a gesture of apology in Japanese), and the “french fries too (and if you look close at the box the french fries are in, there is another emoji on it). But where do these emojis come from?
The Unicode Consortium is the corporation that decides what is an official emoji. For 2015, they are considering making 37 new emojis. The only picture available of one of the emojis is a delicious taco! Some of the other emojis include a unicorn face, a burrito, prayer beads, a zipper-mouth face and a robot face.
